How to Wash Your Face and Reduce Pimples

Posted in Acne Prevention

Did you know that washing your face can greatly reduce acne breakout? Well, truth is that many people still do not commit to this simple daily routine.
There are many different ways to clean your face. As a previous victim myself from my acne breakout, I have discovered that it is not about how many times you wash your face, it’s about how your wash your face. Now, this is not in your school textbook. School doesn’t teach you how to wash your face properly (at least where I am coming from).

Here is what I have learned, and this did prevent me from future acne breakout.

How I Did It

Face Massage
Did you say face massage? What does that have to do with washing your face? I know that these questions are going over your head. Face massage is one major factor to stimulate your skin to get is neccessary oxgen and blood circulation. This will feel little awkward in the beginning, but soon enough, you will forget about the massaging part.

Avoid Generic Bar Soap
This is crucial. Please AVOID, by all mean, any type of generic bar soap. Would you have wash your own kids with generic soap? It’s important to start treating your skin like your own child. It’s sensitive and it deserves much attention than just using any type of soap product. Bar soap will not only damage your skin, it will easily dry out your skin. Instead, try to use the correct cleanser for your face. There are many facial wash products out there. Any of these products are far better than your bar soap at home.

Your Ultimate Goal
Your goal is not only to prevent acne breakout. Face washing also unclogs pores, reduces bacterias, dissolves any dirt, and decreases excess oil level.

How to Wash Your Face Properly

Step 1: Make sure to WASH your hands. Get rid of any germs, grease, and so on.

Step 2: Rinse your face with clean warm water. I would like to start off with warm (not hot) first, because it helps to clean out dirt, grease, and bacterias.

Step 3: Start with small amount of cleanser, not bar soap, and start making small circles around your cheek. Use your fingertips and massage your face gently for next 30 seconds. Again, it’s important to make gentle circular motion. This helps to balance your skin tone and blood circulation.

Step 4: You can now wash your face with cool water. Cool water closes your pores, and it prevents from bacterias to enter your pores.
